About N.W. Lober & Associates: The passion that Nelson W. Lober Sr. had in college when the study of the criminal mind was leading him to become a court psychologist was adjusted when his wife informed him of her pregnancy. He knew that graduate study was going to be tough so, he directed his efforts toward business and the use of psychological principles with reference to business and specifically toward retail. He joined the retail market and soon rose to management. With 13 menswear stores under his auspices, he experimented with his school gained knowledge and his stores experienced exceptional growth. As he tired of the day to day rigors of retail, he found his passion was now seated in new store development. He joined a national fixture company where he led the nation in sales for several years and he formed a strong relationship with the top pharmaceutical firms in the nation through his hospital and pharmacy work. The bonds were so strong that he is still called in to handle problem projects for these mammoth businesses. Soft goods stores became a natural source of business. Lenore Krew, The Deb Shoppes, Debra Barry, The Casual Corner Amsbury & Johnson and Benn's Menswear were early projects of design. A contact which came from one of the principals of Benn's Menswear led to beginning work for Sol Ackman of Davids Jewelers in Westminster, Md. And the entry into the jewelry store design and jewelry display case markets had begun. Five years later, Hisson's Enterprises, a fixture manufacturing facility was formed. Jewelry showcases currently in the marketplace were not satisfying the jewelers need so the manufacturing facility set out to manufacturing a better showcase. After meeting the need, the units were sold to Columbia Diamond Ring for their diamond centers and Diamond center concepts were developed for both the A. H. Pond Company and for Art Carved, which was then owned by Lennox. As the company grew, the manufacturing business was taking up all of the time and the design end of the business began to suffer so, the manufacturing end of the business was sold and N. W. Lober & Associates was formed to pursue design, store planning and consulting endeavors. The company's design work is now found from San Juan, Puerto
Rico to Portland, Maine to Minneapolis, Minnesota to Corpus Christi, Texas.
Up to now, all of our work has been generated by word of mouth for which
we are very thankful to all of our clients. With all of the information
now available on the Internet, we thought it was time to become a part
of it. |
